Ways to Keep the Kidneys Healthy and Eating Habits
People are now more aware about kidneys than ever before. At present more than 20 million people in Bangladesh suffer from kidney disease. About 5 patients die every hour due to kidney failure. The treatment of this disease is so expensive that 10% of the people cannot continue this treatment in the long run.
This disease can be prevented if we are conscious and follow a healthy lifestyle. Due to its high cost, it is not possible to provide full treatment to 10% of the patients in the long run. But In 50–60% of the patients, it is possible to prevent this disease through awareness and a healthy lifestyle.
How do we take care of the kidneys? How to lead a healthy lifestyle? So, now we know the ways to keep the kidneys healthy and eating habits.
- Exercise for half an hour and at least 5 days a week to keep the body active.It is better to walk for an hour and a half every day. One study found that those who exercised daily, did not smoke, ate healthy food and led a healthy life had a lifespan of 12–14 years longer than those who did not. 14 years for women and 12 years for men. Another study found that those who walked fast for an average of 15 minutes a day had an average life expectancy of 3 years. Then for 90 minutes every 15 minutes more walking increases their average lifespan by 2 years.So we should walk more.
- Eat moderate amounts of food and excess food should not be eaten. Body weight will be increased by taking excess food and then there will be various problems related to weight.
- We need to eat good and healthy food.
- Make sure you include vegetables and fruits in your daily diet.In this case, eat 5–6 kinds of vegetables together.
- Do not eat raw salt. If you have to eat then eat with the advice of a doctor.
- Avoid sweet food.
- Don’t drink extra tea or coffee. There is no difficulty in taking it within the limits.
- Do not smoke because smoking causes many diseases in the body.
- Drink moderate amounts of pure water to stay healthy. Generally, 2–3 liters of water is enough for those who work at home and those who work in factories or fields where they sweat a lot need to drink more water. The color of the urine should be like the color of water.
- Lastly, I am mentioning this point that if everyone tries to be humane, love people, do good to people, then a lot of peace will come to mind. Peace of mind is actually the production of hormones in the body that protects the body in various ways.
